Story Book Farm is a place of safety. We offer freedom from fear.
Fundraising is never easy but it is a lot more fun when we have the promise of a donation match. We have made great strides in upgrading and enlarging older outdoor enclosures but we still have a few that need to be done. The cost we have been quoted is $50,000. Generous members of a foundation have offered to match all donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000 in order to achieve our goal. Mr. Jenkins is the latest to enjoy over twice the outdoor space he had for a total of 624 square feet, the size of a small condo. Please help us also give Pockets, Njeri and our ring-tail lemurs more space to enjoy the great outdoors. Donate here to have your donation matched.

“All Canadians can be proud of the work done by the Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary which rescues and cares for primates. Primates are our closest animal relatives. They deserve our help. Please go to www.storybookmonkeys.org and see what you can do. Thank you.” Dr. Jane Goodall

Story Book Farm is a place of safety. We offer freedom from fear. We are a place of healing and recovery from trauma. We believe that all animals have rights; that animals have the right to live free of fear or pain from humans, in any form; and that we can all make a difference, one being at a time. In sanctuary care, we encourage friendships between our residents. We encourage exploration and freedom of choice. We give back the ability to make decisions and control events that affect residents' lives.
As of 2025-05-29, we are home to 23 monkeys and lemurs who have come to us for peace and solace from a variety of backgrounds, some of them with stories difficult even to share, let alone survive.
Won't you join us in our mission? Donate or volunteer today!
The rewards are immeasurable.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us in the past. We hope you will continue to do so in the future, and spread the word so that our community of supporters continues to grow!
